About Me

MY SCOUTING JOURNEY
My name is Shreemann Patel and I am a Life Scout from Troop #10 Hinsdale. I was a cub scout when I was younger, but I quit before becoming a Webelo. I then rejoined scouting in October 2018 with Troop #10. I was inactive for the first few months, and then I really started to be more involved and active with the troop. I earned Scout in the May of 2019, Tenderfoot in October 2019, and then Second Class in November 2019. Then, as I was working on my first class rank, the pandemic hit, and that put a pause to my advancement. In May 2021, I earned the rank of First Class, and just two months later at the 2021 Family Picnic, I ran for Senior Patrol Leader, and won.

After entering the position of Senior Patrol Leader, I decided it was time to make the troop a well-oiled machine. On my second term, I wanted to get awards at the Tall Grass district Klondike Derby, after many dry years. We crushed that challenge and won eight awards. The scouts really put in a lot of hard work to achieve that goal, and I loved seeing the looks on their faces when we beat our previous record. I faced many obstacles and challenges, and I am now on my third 6-month term, trying to complete my goal and grow the size of our troop. To date, I have 31 merit badges, with more to be earned at Summer Camp next week.

ACADEMIC LIFE

The inspiration for this pollinator dates back to second grade, with the Elm School prarie garden club. We learned about plants, milkweeds, and pollinators, and I stayed in that club until I left Elm for HMS. At HMS, I started the Newspaper Club, and was a part of the Eco Club for a year. Now, I go to Hinsdale Central where I am a part of Student Council, Yearbook Club, Solstice, and several others.
